BioMaRT Lab at ISEV 2026

The BioMaRT Lab participated in ISEV 2026, contributing to a wide range of oral and poster presentations across sessions in extracellular vesicle engineering, characterization, and biomanufacturing. Throughout the conference, our team shared research spanning tissue-specific extracellular vesicles, biomaterial integration, EV production, and biosensing approaches, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of our work. The lab was also actively involved in…

Dr. Camilo Mora Contributes to ISEV 2026

Dr. Camilo A. Mora contributed to ISEV 2026 in multiple roles as part of the conference program and organization. He served as chair of the session EV Engineering and Biomanufacturing, presented during the Meet the Locals satellite symposium, and participated in the Educational Day activities. He was also a member of the Local Organizing Committee. His talk, “Engineering Tissue Repair – Integrating EVs, Advanced ECM,…

Valeria De La Rosa Presents at ISEV 2026

Master’s student Valeria De La Rosa presented her research during the poster session at ISEV 2026. Her work, “Scaling the Harnessing of Extracellular Vesicles from Flasks to Cell Manufacturing–Relevant Bioreactors,”focuses on advancing scalable EV production by transitioning from traditional flask-based systems to bioreactor platforms for cell manufacturing applications.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JESÚS JIMÉNEZ ON HIS THESIS DEFENSE!

Congratulations to Jesús Jiménez on successfully defending his Master’s thesis! His work, developed in collaboration with CMaT, focused on innovative approaches for capturing secretome-associated biomarkers to support monitoring strategies in mesenchymal stem cell manufacturing. We’re proud of Jesús’s dedication and contributions to the lab and wish him continued success in the next stage of his professional journey!

Outreach Activity – CMaT Community Event

The BioMaRT Lab participated in a community outreach activity organized by CMaT as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Chemical Engineering Department. The event took place at Mayagüez Mall and featured hands-on demonstrations in science, engineering, and bioengineering for the general public. From our lab, Jesús Jiménez and Alejandra Almenas participated in this outreach effort, contributing to engaging the community in STEM activities. We’re…

BioMaRT Lab Participates in ENGICHEM 2025

The BioMaRT Lab proudly participated in ENGICHEM 2025 – The Future of Research and Industry, a symposium that brought together researchers, students, and industry professionals in chemical engineering and related fields. During the poster session, members of the BioMaRT team presented their research projects: In addition, Dr. Camilo A. Mora participated in the F.I.R.E. Panel (Future of Industry, Research & Engineering), contributing…
