Specialty Area Courses 9 The focus of the coursework in the Graduate Curriculum is in four (4) Specialty Areas listed as follows:

• Thermal/Fluid Science
• Machine Science
• Materials and Manufacturing
• Bio/Micro-Scale Engineering

Each Specialty Area has a list of courses to choose from the list of Specialty Area Courses.
The student has to approve 3 courses in the selected Specialty Area, however, the student can take one course of another Specialty Area and count towards the 3 required courses.

*The 9 credits in ME Electives must be in Mechanical Engineering courses. (Courses with INME code)

**The 9 credits in Free Electives can be in Mechanical Engineering or another program.
