By Plane:
To get to the University you can arrive at three different airports:
- International Airport Luis Munoz Marin in Carolina (SJU), which is served by most USA airlines. The driving time to the University is 2-3 hours.
- National Airport Rafael Hernandez in Aguadilla (BQN), which is served by JetBlue and Spirit. The driving time to the University is 40-60 minutes.
- Local Airport in Mayaguez (MAZ), which is served by Cape Air. The driving time to the University is 10-15 minutes.
All the airports have car rental facilities and a taxi (information provided at airport).
By Bus:
The “Línea Sultana” can take you straight to the Mechanical Engineering Building picking you up anywhere in the route from the International Airport to Mayagüez.

Northbound from Metro Area (SJU):
Straight onto Puente Teodoro Moscoso
Take the ramp to PR-26
Keep left at the fork and merge onto PR-26
Take the exit onto Puerto Rico 22 O :Partial toll road
Merge onto PR-2 W
Follow the road #2 all the way west to Mayagüez.
Take the left of the road and turn left on the University entrance. After entering turn right and ask the guard for the directions to the mechanical engineering building.
