On August 7, 2026, OHL Co-Director Jaquelina Álvarez and OHL Librarian Natalia Hernández participated in Foro Colegial hosted by Dr. Mariam Ludim, Director of RUM Press. During the interview, they shared details about a recent recognition received by the lab. At the ACURL 2026 conference, the OHL was honored with the ACURIL Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries President’s Award 2026: Stephney Ferguson Library Programs for Special Community Information Needs Award. This award aims to recognize and encourage the development of information programs for populations with specific needs while also promoting innovative community outreach initiatives that contribute to building better-informed communities.
