Dr. Merari Feliciano Rivera, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Pathology (2011) from the University of Kentucky, Master in Crop Protection (2007) and Bachelor in Agricultural Education (2004) from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. Dr. Feliciano-Rivera is Associate Professor in the Department of Agro-Environmental Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico since 2011. She teaches three graduate courses: Research Methods in Plant Pathology (PROC 6603), Advanced Plant Pathology (PROC 6608) and Epidemiology of Plant Disease (PROC 6606). She mentors graduate and undergraduate students to apply research. Dr. Feliciano-Rivera began leading research projects in 2012 focused on Forest pathology and Plant Disease Epidemiology and Management funded by USDA. She is working with three projects funded by the USDA focused on Epidemiological Aspects of important diseases and the increment in disease-free seed of yam. She is also a member of the IR4 Puerto Rico Committee where her role is to perform efficacy trials of pesticides to complete the registration procedures.
