Bioengineering

Bioengineering  is a discipline that applies mathematical concepts to solve physical problems of life sciences, using analytical and synthetic methods based on engineering methodologies. While traditional engineering and mathematics are used to analyze, design and manufacture inanimate tools, structures and processes, bioengineering uses the same science to study many aspects of living organisms. Usually it is used to analyze and solve problems related to the health of humans, animals and useful biological systems in food and pharmaceutical production. It is the branch of engineering that deals with the technological application of biological systems, living organisms or derivatives to make or modify products or processes for a specific use. To do this, biotechnological engineering makes use of the natural sciences (such as chemistry and physics), mathematics and other specialized disciplines result of the combination of these (biochemistry, bioengineering and biotechnology).
