Fluid Mechanics

Fluid mechanics is the branch of continuum mechanics, a branch of physics in turn, studying the movement of fluids (gases and liquids) as well as the forces they provoke. The key feature that defines fluids is their inability to resist shear stresses (which causes lack of defined shape). It also studies the interactions between the fluid and the boundary that limits.
