Postdoctoral position: Mechanics of nematodes in complex media
A postdoctoral researcher position is available immediately in the laboratory of Profs. Jerzy Blawzdziewicz and Siva Vanapalli in the Departments of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with background in fluid dynamics, soft matter physics or rheology. Experience in computational methods for multiphase flows is desirable.
Our project combines theoretical, numerical and experimental investigations of worm biomechanics in heterogeneous media. This project is part of an interdisciplinary effort that involves engineers, biologists and physicists, so candidates with broad interests in mechanics and biological physics are encouraged to apply.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, and the position includes full benefits. Initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of renewal depending upon performance and availability of funds.
