Who We Are

The Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Society (PESS) was founded in February 2021 at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) by students seeking to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

PESS supports students interested in pursuing careers in pharmaceutical engineering by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and collaboration with industry professionals, particularly in the biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors.

To foster strong partnerships between academia and industry that contribute to the development of a skilled professional workforce in Puerto Rico’s biopharmaceutical and medical device industries.
