Reinaldo RosadoSilva spent ten years as instructor of social sciences and liberal arts in the public and private sector, legislative assistant, consultant, and public interest analyst and radio producer before receiving his PhD in History of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean at the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in 2021. Rosado-Silva is a Puerto Rican social scientist committed to teaching, service, activism and research at the higher level. He applies the knowledge generated to defend the fundamental human rights. He has published and presented local and international forums. In addition, he has received research grants from governmental and non-governmental entities. Dr. Rosado-Silva has served as a mentor to student organizations, new courses designer and event organizer for the First National Congress of Work and Community Development at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez Campus.

Academic Positions: Assistant professor and Researcher at Applied Social Research Center and the University Institute for Community Development.

Education: Rosado-Silva received his PhD in History of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean at the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, and MP in Planning at the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras Campus, and BA in Sociology at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez Campus.

Research / Areas of Interests: Community Development, Community Resilience, Urban Studies, Urban History, Public Housing Policy, and Planning.
