Our Process – Inventors

1. Research of scientific work via R&D projects
2. Develop and perfect R&D and publish papers
3. Maintain inventor’s lab notebook
4. Meet with the OPITT office to see potential for Patenting invention
5. Fill out invention disclosure form
6. OPITT evaluates de invention disclosure and meets with inventors
7. OPITT performs a prior art search
8. OPITT decides which invention disclosures will pass to the patent filing stage
9. Invention that will be patented get passed to UPR Rio Piedras to start the patenting process with an attorney
