The Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor. In addition to its graduate program, the Chemical Engineering Department has an undergraduate program with high demand and growth potential in the College of Engineering. The faculty in its graduate program conducts research projects and have access to excellent research funding mechanisms from the United States federal government, and private industry.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a Ph.D., or its equivalent, in Chemical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment is highly desirable. This position will support research endeavors with expertise in areas such as Advanced Manufacturing; Bioengineering/Biomolecular Engineering; and Energy, Environmental and Sustainability. Other potential areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications for Chemical and Biomolecular Process Design and Control. Bilingualism (Spanish/English) would be considered a valued skill.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Successful applicants are expected to develop nationally recognized externally funded research programs and publish research work in peer-reviewed conferences and journals. The selected candidate must be committed to achieving excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and contributing to other departmental initiatives. Moreover, the candidate must participate in faculty committees; continuous improvement, assessment, outreach activities, and support general service in the department.
