Transfers

There are 3 types of transfers:

1) Articulated Transfer – These are academic programs that you start in one unit by taking some basic or required courses and then enter a particular program in another unit.

2) External Transfer – If you are a student at a UPR unit and have not completed an academic degree, but are interested in continuing your studies in another unit, either in the same program you were in or in a different one. You must follow the following steps:

Consult your counselor or assistant registrar in charge of admissions and transfers to ensure you meet transfer requirements.
Request a readmission request (which is the same as the transfer request).
Choose two study program alternatives in your application.
If you are an inactive student (you have been away from the UPR for more than one semester) you must request readmission with an external transfer.

3) Internal Transfer – This is when you are interested in changing Faculty and/or study program within the same campus. You must follow the following steps:

Search and complete the application at the admissions office of the UPR campus where you study.
Pay transfer fee at the finance office (cash, ATH or credit card, personal checks are not accepted).
Submit the application to the admissions office or send it with a money order to the address provided for that purpose.

Readmission Fee: $35.70 on-time, $52.20 late

Internal Transfer Cost: $22.70 on time, $32.70 late
