Projects include feature stories, brochures, posters, PSAs, recruitment videos, among others.
From February through May, 2009 students enrolled in ENGL 3268: Writing for the Communications Media have been contributing to The Colegio Blogporter (http://engl3268.wordpress.com/), an informative weblog with original student reporting. Our online publication regularly published postings from five beats. The Arts & Entertainment beat includes coverage of artistic, cultural and sports event taking place at the UPRM and in Western Puerto Rico. The Green Alternatives beat covers events, initiatives and organizations working to protect our environment and foment green lifestyles. The Economy beat reports on local stories that examine the impact of the current economic crisis and attempt to raise consciousness about it. The Social Issues beat addresses stories about a broad range of problems afflicting our society and our students such as domestic violence, date rape, stress and educational problems. And the English Department beat covers stories about departmental events, initiatives and personalities.
