Multimodal Presentations for Queer Literature and Composition in Café Nova Ley

On May 10, 2013, from 5:00- 9:00 p.m. students from Dr. Mary Sefranek's INGL 3104 course (taught as Queer Literature and Composition) will give multimodal presentations at Café Nova Ley. Their presentations are based on poems, songs, short stories, and a novel read in class this year and will unveil a number of hidden talents on the part of the participants (we have discovered the presence of singers, actors, visual artists, media specialists and musicians in our midst).

RUMEGA Conference 2013: Identity in Literature, Linguistics and Pedagogy

On Friday, May 3 in CH326 at 4:30 PM, RUMEGA will hold a conference on the topic of identity in literature, linguistics and pedagogy. Our speakers include Prof. Sandra Rios and Prof. Catherine Mazak. Each speaker will have 15 minutes for their presentation, and 10 minutes for questions. The event will be one hour long. CEP credit is pending for attendees.

The title of Prof. Rios’ presentation is: “The Bildungsroman in Environmental Rhetoric: The Heroic Narrative of Casa Pueblo, Adjuntas.”

Art and Film in Classrooms and the Inseparability of Critical and Creative Thought

This afternoon, Friday, April 25th, the presentation "Art and Film in Classrooms and the Inseparability of Critical and Creative Thought" will take place in Chardón 326 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and will focus on the aesthetic development that art and film cultivate in classroom contexts, as well as their significance for understanding and learning. Strategies for incorporating art and film in classrooms will be addressed.
