The International Hostos Book Fair has become  a new tradition in Mayagüez. It all started back in 2010 and is celebrated every year and a half, it is filled with diverse topics to educate the community and improve the quality of life of the citizens of the western region. This rewarding event will take place at the adjacent park of the Estadio Isodoro García de Mayagüez, from November 3rd to the 8th. The activities last all day.

The event includes an assorted program of activities such as a magic forest of readings, a section of gallery paintings, tables with independent booksellers, authors, publishers and artisans, all in a context of folklore. Also, simultaneously conferences and workshops will be conducted in literature, art, science and technology. This year it will also include an educational mini zoo.

The fair will incorporate the Unión Hispanomundial de Escritores, which will bring writers to Mayagüez that have been featured over forty countries worldwide. The conference of Caribbean Women Writers will also be part of its varied lectures on science, technology, and the humanities.
