Development of critical literacy skills required to comprehend mass media messages. Identification of rhetorical, production, and ideological devices used in the construction of meaning in media. Acquisition of new communication competencies to access, analyze, evaluate, and present analysis of media texts such as print media, advertisements, television, films, music videos, and public relations material. Study of the interaction of language and visual communication with the cultural environment.
