Dr. Elizabeth Pine Dayton from the Department of English and Dr. Doris Martinez from the Department of Hispanic Studies recently returned to Barrio Obrero in Santurce to share the results of their 2006 – 2007 UPRM Seed Money Grant with Dominicans living in the community there. After much discussion, the two professors and the Dominicans decided that the next steps of the research should include English classes and a focus group session. The English classes will start immediately; the focus group session will be scheduled for the near future.
