Yashira Valentin-Rosas, Ed.D. holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX, and a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She is a certified English teacher in both Texas and Puerto Rico, and a certified principal in Texas.

Yashira’s career in K-12 education began as a bilingual teacher at the elementary level and later transitioned to teaching English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) and English as a Second Language (ESL) at the secondary level for grades 9-10. She also served as a district-level Instructional Coach, offering expertise in cross-curricular subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. 

Her doctoral research focused on the individual-level factors that influence language ideologies among secondary content teachers, reflecting her dedication to improving educational outcomes for diverse student populations.

In addition to her academic work, Yashira has contributed to curriculum alignment and instructional module design to meet the needs of multilingual learners as a professional educational consultant. With her experience in K-12, Higher Education, leadership, and curriculum development, she is passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within educational environments and advocating for the transformative power of education.
