Readmission

  1. Graduate students who interrupt their studies may request readmission as long as the total number of years to complete the degree is not exceeded.
  2. The request for readmission is evaluated by the Graduate Committee of the program and is sent to the Director of the Department, or the Coordinator of the Graduate Program for their decision, which will be forwarded to the Director of Graduate Studies.

Internal Transfers

  1. The student must request the transfer by submitting a justification and the documentation required by the program or department to which he or she hopes to transfer and comply with the requirements of the new program.
  2. The Departmental Graduate Committee will evaluate the requests for internal transfer and will submit its recommendation to the Coordinator of the Graduate Program or Director of the Department for the corresponding process. The Office of the Registrar will notify the department of the originating program of the result of the processing of the internal transfer request.
  3. The Departmental Graduate Committee will evaluate and recommend the accreditation of the credits approved by the student in the original program and the assignment of possible deficiencies for the new program.
  4. Transfers will not be recommended to students who have completed 75% or more of the required credits in the program of origin and who have approved less than 50% of the credits of the program to which they are requesting the transfer.
  5. The maximum time allowed to obtain the degree will be that which corresponds to the new program to which you transfer and will begin to count from the academic semester in which the first accredited course for the new program was passed.
  6. For transfers between programs in the same department, the Departmental Graduate Committee will request the opinion of the student’s advisor if it deems it necessary.
  7. Plan changes within the same program will be considered transfers between programs within the same department. They must follow the same procedure and be reflected in the new study plan.
