unmannedPurpose:

  1. Represent the interests of the unmanned vehicle systems community that includes industry, academia, government, and military
  2. Promote public awareness, education and appreciation for the unmanned vehicle systems community to itself, to Puerto Ricans and worldwide
  3. Provide a single voice for the Puerto Rican Unmanned Systems community
  4. Assist the unmanned vehicle systems community to achieve leadership in research, development, application, and operations

Strategic components:

  1. Research the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by an engineering education approach for the protection of USA’s borders and territories, in addition to providing education to the citizens.
  2. Research into the design and construction of high efficient power electronics converters for energy management on US applications.
  3. Research on nonlinear control strategies, robust hierarchical algorithms for communications and navigation, and cybersecurity of Unmanned Systems.
  4. Research on cooperative Unmanned Systems composed of various autonomous vehicles (sea, land, or air vehicles) for the multitasking versatility of carrying out different types of missions and attaining objectives faster than a single autonomous vehicle.
  5. Research on mechatronics, embedded systems, and robotics for Unmanned Systems applications (e.g. surveillance, precision farming, archeology, search, and rescue).
